March 2016 – The Centenary of the 1916 Easter Rising

Share

SU_Mar_16Dear Teacher,

March’s New Downloadable Worksheets

The Foggy Dew
On Easter Monday 1916, Irish rebels occupied Dublin’s General Post Office in the defining moment of the struggle for Irish independence. The centenary of this rebellion is being commemorated throughout 2016 in Ireland, and this worksheet uses The Foggy Dew to recount those events 100 years ago.

What Do You Mean? – Justin Bieber
By far the biggest cheer in this year’s Roadshow is for this song – this worksheet by Mena Bianco focuses on Present Simple vs Present Continuous and stative verbs vs dynamic verbs.

We Are Young – fun.
To celebrate the Roadshow’s 10th anniversary, each month we are publishing a worksheet for one song from each tour. This song first appeared in 2012-2013, and has featured in every show since.

Over 280 Downloadable worksheets now online (including a selection of Irish worksheets to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, on the 17th March).
Most of the worksheets have been written by your colleagues – perhaps you have prepared one and want to share it?

The print edition of Ten Years of the Tune Into English Roadshow is now available, featuring the scripts of the first decade of the Roadshow.

The Tune Into English Roadshow
The tenth anniversary tour continues in March, you can follow it through the photos on Tune’s facebook page (thank you to all involved!). I look forward to meeting you and your students in the coming months.
