Dear Teacher,
Disco Days
We are delighted to announce that Tune Into English is an official cultural partner of Disco Days, Southern Italy’s largest Record Fair. If you are in the Naples area on Sunday 23rd April, do come along to this public presentation of the Roadshow – the event’s programme will be published online soon.
Trinity Workshop
Those in Rome are invited to this Ministry accredited event on the 4th April, where Tune Into English teams up with Trinity College for the workshop. Full details and obligatory pre-booking form can be found here.
April’s New Downloadable Worksheets
Johnny B. Goode – Chuck Berry
The Rock’n’Roll world lost its founder in March, with the passing of Chuck Berry. Regular contributor Mena Bianco has contributed this worksheet based on his signature song.
(Personal note: I had the pleasure of meeting Chuck Berry in his hometown of St. Louis in 1989 – fortunately he never saw my performance of Johnny B. Goode on my 21st birthday! 😉 )
Awakening – Anna Maria Jopek
April 22nd is Earth Day, and this worksheet, written by Maria Gulczynska, Ancona, looks at ecology and nature. This song was a 1997 Eurovision Song Content entry – next month’s newsletter will feature a Eurovision special.
Over 300 Downloadable worksheets now online
Most of the worksheets have been written by your colleagues – perhaps you have prepared one and want to share it?
The Tune Into English Roadshow
The March tour included the annual Spain trip, with shows at the Andalusian Universities of Huelva and Cádiz, as well as in Mairena del Aljarafe and Trigueros (with the best presentation ever!). This month the show returns to the Teatro Cinema Roma in Portici, with three dates. Thank you for the positive feedback so far!

Easter Egg Hunt
An Easter egg is a hidden message, usually found in computer games. The name is used to evoke the idea of a traditional Easter egg hunt. We’ve teamed up with UK design agency ifour to present this online quiz.
Also online:

Note: last month’s newsletter presented schools in Ireland valid for the Carta del Docente. In a subsequent telephone conversation with the Italian Ministry I was told this was not possible – you can read the follow up email here. Apologies for any misunderstanding.
The Tune Into English offices will be closed from the 8th to the 26th April, as I will be travelling in Japan prior to Disco Days.
A very Happy Easter to you all.
Keep singing,
Best wishes,
Fergal Kavanagh
