Dear Teacher,

As we enter the last month of term, the countdown to the end of the year has begun!

There are three additions to the Downloadable Worksheets page of
www.tuneintoenglish.com this month. Appropriate for students who will soon be facing the end-of-year exams, Claudia Cantaluppi from Como has submitted Billy Ocean’s When The Going Gets Tough (The Tough Get Going), while the key word in Linkin Park’s Shadow Of The Day is “goodbye” – this worksheet was submitted by Mena Bianco from Giugliano (NA). With the European Football Championships coming up, it is appropriate that the third worksheet is Queen’s We Are The Champions, submitted by Laura Casolero from Grumo Nevano (NA).

You can read an analysis of the lyrics to We Are The Champions in The Song, in the current issue of Speak Up, on newsstands now. You can read more about this by following the link on the home page of the Tune Into English website.

The Karaoke section of the website now features around 1,200 songs, including most of the hits in the current UK and USA singles charts (you can reference the charts on the Students’ Page of the website).

There is also a new Karaoke section, featuring songs in Irish – those of you interested in this beautiful language, as well as the stunning scenery of this country, can access this from the Tune Into Ireland page.

The Tune Into English Roadshow will be concluding its tour this month – there are still some free dates in Campania and Sardinia, so if you are interested in hosting the show at your school, I look forward to hearing from you.

Best wishes,

Fergal Kavanagh
