Dear Teacher,

It is a little early, but I would like to wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas and a peaceful and prosperous New Year.

You will find many exciting additions to the Tune Into English website for the Christmas period. There is a special Christmas Karaoke area featuring 35 festive favourites, so why not have a special lesson on Christmas songs?

There are also three new worksheets - Prof. Carrie Elise Rodella from International English in Capaccio (SA) has submitted “Last Christmas” by Wham!, and Caterina Ziliani from Milan has written a worksheet for “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer”, suitable for both the Scuola Primaria and Scuole Superiore. Caterina has also written an excellent worksheet for Tokio Hotel’s “Monsoon”, one of 2007’s biggest hits, and a favourite in The Tune Into English Roadshow. Returning to the theme of Christmas, the worksheet for John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s “Happy Xmas (War Is Over)” is also available for download.

The new issue of Speak Up is now on newsstands, and you can read about it by following the link on the home page of www.tuneintoenglish.com. This month it is in fact John Lennon’s popular Christmas anti-war hit under the spotlight.

You can also hear an Italian translation of the song on the “Tric & Trac” page of the Students’ Area, along with 15 other hits.
