1954, Elvis Presley recorded ‘That’s All Right’, his first single, at Sam Phillip’s Sun Studios with guitarist Scotty Moore and bassist Bill Black, the Blue Moon Boys.

1957, John Lennon and Paul McCartney met for the first time when The Quarrymen played at the Woolton Garden Fete. Band member Ivan Vaughan introduced his Liverpool Institute classmate to the others and Paul showed John how to tune a guitar.
