  • Note: This song is from U2’s 1983 album War. On Sunday 30th January 1972,British soldiers opened fire on unarmed civil rights protesters in Derry, Northern Ireland. Thirteen people, including six minors, were killed outright and many more were seriously wounded. On 15th June 2010 the Saville Report, an inquiry commissioned in 1998 by then Prime Minister Tony Blair, was published. It was heavily critical of the British Army, with Prime Minister David Cameron declaring “The Bloody Sunday killings were unjustified and unjustifiable” and that he was “deeply sorry”.
