Music is Art! We have just launched the Tune Into English Drawing Competition! A real or imaginary album cover, live concert or even the Tune Into English Roadshow, anything (music related) goes – we will use some of the results in our publicity and give the artist a Tune t-shirt. We look forward to receiving your students’ (or even your own!) masterpieces!
The Tune Into English Roadshow continues its tour – comments from the Sardinia shows are online (read also about Sassari’s Comenius project). I would be delighted to come to your school, and look forward to meeting you and your students – there is a 45-second video of the show on www.tuneintoenglish.com.
This month’s three new additions to the Downloadable Worksheets section of the Teachers’ Area of the website are based on Tune Into London, our recent musical tour. The first exploits the video of the tour, with contributions from Maria Gulczynska, Ancona and Caroline Swettenham, Naples.
We visited Berwick Street, the site of the cover shoot for the Oasis album (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? Mena Bianco, Naples, submitted a fun crossword based activity for Wonderwall.
The original music for the Tune Into London video was produced by Gary Friel, based in Bari (more Gary music). He also wrote the worksheet for Gerry Rafferty’s classic Baker Street. Gary has an excellent youtube channel with the aim of allowing teachers to drill basic grammar in interesting and realistic ways.
