Dear Teacher,

The Tune Into English Roadshow began its tour on the 28th of September – thank you to all in Giugliano for the wonderful reception the new show received. You can see the comments here, with photos on the Tune Into English facebook page. The tour’s Autumn schedule is filling up, and I would be delighted to visit your school. Remember that this year there is also a second show for repeat visits.

A short video of the last year’s Roadshow is now online. You can watch this by following the link on the home page of www.tuneintoenglish.com or by clicking here. This is the first video on our new youtube channel. Thank you to all who hosted the show, I look forward to meeting you and your students again this year.

Two of this month’s additions to the Downloadable Worksheets section of the Teachers’ Area of the website are featured in the new Roadshow. The first is appropriate for this time of year with Hallowe’en and Guy Fawkes Night coming up. Written by Caterina Ziliani in Houston, Texas, Katy Perry’s Firework is a visual gap fill.

The second worksheet focuses on rhyming words and vocabulary, using the extremely popular The Lazy Song by Bruno Mars. This was sent in by Laura Casolero, Grumo Nevano (NA).

The third worksheet looks at Agony Aunts, based on Roll To Me by Del Amitri. This was sent in by Maria Gulczynska, Ancona.

Thank you to those teachers who have submitted worksheets, I look forward to receiving your contributions.

You can sing along with the UK Top 10 Charts on the Speak Up site – updated weekly, there is a link on the Tune Home page too. The Karaoke page of Tune Into English now features over 7,500 songs, including all those mentioned in this newsletter.

Tourism Ireland are offering a two-week study holiday to Dublin, in an easy on-line competition – visit www.irlandaconcorsi.com for full details. Remember that Tune Into English works closely with schools in Ireland and the UK – click here for further details.

I look forward to meeting you and your students in the coming months,

Best wishes,

Fergal Kavanagh
